From Thursday to Saturday, bright sunshine transformed the event site into an international meeting place for rescue workers from all over the world. They exchanged experiences, presented innovations and made valuable contacts. The event kicked off with an exclusive dealer conference on Thursday. Even though it started raining on Sunday, the atmosphere remained fantastic and rescueDAYS 2025 was an unforgettable experience.
The venue for the 21st rescueDAYS was Bitburg Airfield, where the focus was on practical training in technical rescue. More than 800 firefighters, instructors and employees of WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS from over 40 countries attended the event.
Participants received intensive training at a total of eleven stations – from rear-end and side collision rescues to extricating people from modern vehicles to scenarios involving lorries, agricultural machinery and buses. Special topics such as door opening were also on the agenda again.
In order to make the training as realistic as possible, around 200 vehicles were deliberately deformed in advance. Once again, the WEBER CRASH SYSTEM was used, which allows controlled deformation with the aid of four cylinders – from minor collisions to the most serious accident scenarios can be achieved. This enabled the emergency services to train under safe conditions how to rescue people safely and efficiently in an emergency.
A special highlight: the use of pre-production vehicles from BMW and Volkswagen. These reflect the latest developments in vehicle technology, including high-strength body materials and state-of-the-art safety systems. For emergency services, this presents new challenges, for which they will be well prepared at rescueDAYS.
A big thank you goes to the Bitburg-Prüm District Fire Brigade Association and all local supporters, without whose active help an event of this size would not be possible.
Alongside the training sessions, numerous specialist exhibitors took the opportunity to showcase their products. In addition to partners such as Milwaukee, we also welcomed E-Unit from Hockenheim, for example.
We also presented our broad portfolio at rescueDAYS 2025 – with a special focus on digital solutions that support rescue workers in the field and in training. The focus was primarily on the safety of all those involved.
A central element was our RETTERTAGS, which accompanied first responders throughout the event and enabled quick identification. In addition to the tags, emergency buttons were also installed at all stations. In an emergency, this meant that an alarm could be triggered within a very short time and help could be provided immediately.
The RETTERAlarm system made it possible to respond quickly and specifically at any time – because every minute counts in an emergency.
rescueDAYS 2025 impressively demonstrated how practical training, international exchange and digital solutions can go hand in hand to further increase safety in the field.
A big thank you to all participants, trainers and our partners for a successful event!
