The international rescueDAYS Munich 2020 from WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS should have once again been a highlight on the fire-fighting scene. The 18th outing of this successful training event in technical rescue was scheduled to take place this year from 14 to 17 October on the test site of MAN Truck & Bus SE in Munich. The preparations for the rescueDAYS with the support of our partners MAN and the Munich fire service have been ongoing for several months.
Unfortunately, the COVID 19 pandemic also has an impact on a major event of this nature. Over the past few weeks, we have examined various scenarios and, together with our partners, we have followed the official recommendations. We have now come to the mutual conclusion that it is better for all parties involved to cancel the rescueDAYS 2020. This decision saddens us greatly, but we can see no alternative under the current circumstances.
The priority for us and our partners is the health and safety of the participants, employees and all other parties involved. Although the rules are gradually being relaxed at the moment, the situation remains unclear and the ongoing uncertainty unfortunately means it is impossible to organise a major international event. We feel confident that we have made the right decision and we hope that all parties involved will understand. Any participants who have already purchased a ticket will naturally receive a full refund. We will be contacting these participants over the coming weeks and we kindly request your understanding in that refunds will take some time to process.
In order that the important matter of training does not entirely fall victim to the pandemic this year, we are currently working with our partners to devise alternative concepts. We will inform you of these in good time in advance.
